Cacao Program

More than 230,000 farmers make a living producing cacao in MOCCA’s six target countries. Ecuador and Peru are the first and second largest exporters of fine cocoa in the world, while Central American cacao sectors are much smaller.

Cacao program progress

MOCCA will support the market system actors in Central America and Peru by collaborating and building the capacity of others to train farmers, facilitating commercial relationships with shared value-minded buyers, strengthening suppliers of genetic material for planting, expanding research and the dissemination of research results, facilitating access to finance, and helping institutions to develop or expand services that assist farmers in successfully renovating and rehabilitating their farms.
