ANECACAO is the National Association of Cacao Exporters and Manufacturers of Ecuador. With this partnership we support the training of farmers in the use of better agricultural practices and provide better genetic material for planting. We promote quality through flagship activities, positioning campaigns and events with the national and international academic sector.
MOCCA and Econutrition provide technical assistance to cacao farmers in Ecuador, aimed at strengthening the renovation and rehabilitation of their farms. We provide better planting material with the ESS Super Tree genetic variety, and promote marketing mechanisms through inclusive systems and higher value markets to thrust the export of fine aroma cacao of Amazonian origin.
Through our partnership with Corporación Fortaleza del Valle, we train cacao farmers to use farming best practices for renovation and rehabilitation and we design mechanisms to guarantee an internal quality system for cacao production. We encourage leadership among young people and women cacao farmers and promote nationwide strategies for cadmium mitigation.
In Ecuador, MOCCA and Olam develop strategies to increase the productivity and profitability of cacao farmers through renovation and rehabilitation actions, and the introduction of agroecological practices, promoting the certification of nurseries to facilitate access to quality seedlings and promote the dissemination of the results of applied research on cadmium mitigation strategies.
In partnership with the Unión de Organizaciones Campesinas Cacaoteras del Ecuador (UNOCACE), we provide technical assistance to strengthen the marketing of cacao produced on socially responsible farms with an environmental certification, and under high quality standards to meet the demand of international markets, resulting in the sustainability of all actors in the cacao value chain.

Armando went from selling 900 cocoa plants in 2021 to almost 3,000 in 2023. The production of other plants in the nursery has also doubled.

Through the MOCCA alliance, it will contribute to strengthening AHPROCAFE’s capabilities to provide its business and union base bodies with technical and financial support services.
